Abstract

This contribution revolves around the encounter with an object. Understood emphatically, an encounter always carries with it a potential for changes that can affect everyone and
everything involved. The sense of an encounter is based in the motions that are involved. This implies on the one hand that motion carries a certain sense, an orientation. How does this sense or orientation change? On the other hand, corporeal sensuality is also relevant. How are things, bodies and senses interweaving? Both questions will be addressed through the temporalities that they entail, from getting to the object and its place, through a phase of contact and extending out into a more or less open thereafter. Finally, the role of repetition
and absence is discussed.
