The purpose of this research is the study of the burial traditions of the Yamnaya culture, which present a complex differentiation and several regional variants.
Research
This project will focus on the establishment of a large database of the archaeological evidences, the application of multivariate statistics and GIS-based analyses, the development of new typological classification of the grave goods and the interpretation of the anthropological and radiocarbon data, in order to build a model for a better comprehension of the Yamnaya cultural horizon.
This Ph.D. thesis is being written within the program Landscape Archaeology and Architecture (LAA) of the Berlin Graduate School of Ancient Studies (BerGSAS).
