This dissertation was devoted to images of space in the Third Sibylline Oracle.
Research
The Third Sibylline Oracle is a Jewish pseudepigraph from approximately the first century BC. The thesis focused on the dominion of space within the book. Space in the Third Sibyl is defined by two axis, a vertical one that describes geographical space and a horizontal one that defines the relationship between God and his people. The axis are ultimately joined when God establishes his divine dominion on earth at the end of the book, which can be described with the term utopia.
