Edith Foster studied classics and history at the University of Toronto and received a Ph D from the University of Chicago in 2002. Since 2014 she is senior research associate in the Department of Classics at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio. Her research focuses on ancient Greek prose writers and particularly the work of Thucydides of whom she has published a wide range of books, such as Thucydides, Pericles ans Periclean Imperialism, Thucydides and Herodotus and the forthcoming Oxford Handbook of Thucydides.
